Hop on the Hoku Nui for a snorkel tour and feel the spirit of aloha with our amazing crew.

As a visitor to the Island of Hawaii snorkeling in Kealakekua Bay is one of the best things to do in Kona.

According to Love Big Island, Kealakekua Bay is one of the best snorkeling spots in the State of Hawaii.  This beautiful spot on the South Kona Coast has the most abundant coral reefs in the Island and is a perfect paradise for snorkelers.  The bottom is made up of mostly coral and is home to a variety of Hawaiian fish which is another reason this is such a popular spot for snorkeling.  Most parts of this Bay are only 25 feet in depth and is perfect for snorkelers of any experience.  The Bay was designated a Marine Life Conservation District in 1973.

In addition to the beautiful tropical waters of Kealakekua Bay, there is much history associated with it.  Early Hawaiian Royalty considered the Bay to be a sacred place. Ka’awaloa was at one time a Hawaiian Village at the northern part of the Bay.  The Captain Cook Monument signifies the spot where James Cook, famous navigator first arrived in 1778 and was later killed in 1779.

Sea Paradise has 38 years’ experience helping visitors to the Big Island create the best Hawaiian vacation memory in the pristine turquoise waters of the Kona Coast.
