The Gentle Giants of the Sea

manta ray

If you want a unique Hawaiian water-adventure, you don’t need to look any further than Sea Paradise’s Manta Ray tour!

Sea Paradise is one of the original manta ray tours on the Big Island and has been in the business for 39 years. Our guests love our attentive crew, who make sure your experience is safe and fun for you and the manta rays.

Gliding under the starlit Hawaiian sky, the gentle giants of the sea await. Manta ray snorkeling with Sea Paradise grants you a front-row seat to a mesmerizing ballet.  As you float above in warm water, the light under the raft illuminates a soft glow attracting plankton, the manta’s feast.  After a minute, a majestic silhouette emerges, its wingspan reaching up to 29 feet, gracefully filtering the bounty. You will be mezmerized as you witness their graceful dance, their movements both powerful and serene.   This magical encounter will leave an indelible mark, a memory etched in your mind, forever reminding you of the awe-inspiring beauty of Hawaii’s underwater world.

Manta rays have vast, diamond-shaped bodies which glide effortlessly through water, propelled by wing-like pectoral fins. Unlike stingrays, they lack barbs, instead filtering plankton with wide, terminal mouths guided by cephalic fins resembling horns. These gentle giants boast the largest brains among fish, exhibiting intelligence and playful curiosity. They can be found gracefully somersaulting, soaring through plankton blooms and is truly an unforgettable and awesome experience to witness!
